Phone Number Porting
Please have the following information ready before submitting your porting request.
What is "porting"?
Number porting allows you to transfer both voice and text services for your existing phone number(s) from your current provider to Convey — so you keep the same numbers without any interruption to your business.
Required Documents
You will need ONE of the following documents from your current carrier before starting:
| Document | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Customer Service Record (CSR) | Official record from your carrier with all account and number details. Request this directly from your current provider. |
| Most Recent Phone Bill / Invoice | Your latest billing statement showing the account number, service address, and phone numbers. |
Information Checklist
Use the checklist below to gather everything required. Items marked with * are mandatory.
☐ Phone Number(s) to Port* - The full 10-digit number(s) you want to transfer. List all numbers you wish to port.
☐ Company Name* - Your business name exactly as it appears on your carrier account or bill.
☐ Authorized Contact Name* - First and last name of the person authorized on the account with the current carrier
☐ Current Carrier Name* - Name of your existing phone service provider (e.g., AT&T, Comcast, RingCentral).
☐ Account Number* - Your account number with the current carrier. Found on your bill or by calling your carrier.
☐ Billing Telephone Number (BTN)* - The main/billing phone number on your account (exactly 10 digits). If unsure, try one of the numbers you are porting.

Signed Letter of Authorization
Using the information obtained in the checklist, fill out a Letter of Authorization (LOA). This must be dated within the last thirty (30) days.
Important Notes Before You Submit
-
Do NOT cancel your current service early.
Keep your existing phone service active until the porting process is fully complete. Cancelling early may result in losing your numbers permanently. -
Information must match exactly.
All details submitted (company name, address, account number) must match exactly what your current carrier has on file. Mismatches are the most common cause of porting delays. -
Port dates are not guaranteed.
Your requested date is a preference only. The actual date depends on your current carrier's approval. We will notify you of the confirmed date. -
Porting typically takes 3–10 business days.
Standard ports are usually completed within this window. Complex or multi-number ports may take longer.
